First MRI

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

First of all, thank you soooooooooo much for all your thoughts, cards, loves, and prayers for Jun and us!! They have been helping us a lot. We really appreciate that.

Today, Jun had an MRI. It was actually his first MRI since the accident because he had some metal protections for his teeth. You know, you can’t take MRI with metal, right? Anyway, the doctor said his brain stem and some parts in the frontal lobe are damaged. Brain stem controls pretty much everything, so it is a crucial damage for him, and that is the reason why he is still unconscious. He blinks, moves his arms, yawns… but it is rather natural body reaction than responses and doesn’t count as conscious. He can’t respond to us at all yet.

The doctor said she has no idea how long would it take to be conscious. It might be within this year, or forever. We are pretty sure it will take long time. Only we can do right now is talk to him, give him lots of stimuli, trust him, and wait. It would be tough, but we want to fight with him, for him. Luckily, I have such a great/ positive parents, so I feel like we can go for it!

Anyway, thank you again! Papa and Mama said thank you and hello to all of you as well!!
We love you!
