今週の準/ Jun’s week

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Jun is eating more and more everyday! He ate only porridge and mushed vegetables on Monday but he eats mushy rice and regular vegetables, meat, and fish. He eats much faster now as well. He even uses his spoon once I give it to him with rice on it. I hope he will get more energy nfor more rehabilitation! Thank you for your continuous prayers!

It’s a good day!

Peace!

Today Jun threw a ball. Actually the ball was dropped from his hand, but he did it on purpose! He is eating a jello-like food to re-learn eating. His visitors are pretty sure he can hear, see, and understand them. He can even understand English, too! Mihori’s American co-workers visit him sometimes and he seems to understand them.

Recently Jun was able to give a high-five and also give a peace sign! Thank you everyone for your caring concern and interest in Jun’s recovery. We are making progress!

Good days and bad days

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Looks like he's smiling...Jun is having  good days and bad days recently. In a good day, he can ride on a wheel chair and go out of hospital for a half hour or so. He looks like smiling sometimes and moves his body a lot. In a bad day, he doesn’t move, has no facial expression, and stay in bed for the whole day.

First MRI

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

First of all, thank you soooooooooo much for all your thoughts, cards, loves, and prayers for Jun and us!! They have been helping us a lot. We really appreciate that.

Today, Jun had an MRI. It was actually his first MRI since the accident because he had some metal protections for his teeth. You know, you can’t take MRI with metal, right? Anyway, the doctor said his brain stem and some parts in the frontal lobe are damaged. Brain stem controls pretty much everything, so it is a crucial damage for him, and that is the reason why he is still unconscious. He blinks, moves his arms, yawns… but it is rather natural body reaction than responses and doesn’t count as conscious. He can’t respond to us at all yet.

The doctor said she has no idea how long would it take to be conscious. It might be within this year, or forever. We are pretty sure it will take long time. Only we can do right now is talk to him, give him lots of stimuli, trust him, and wait. It would be tough, but we want to fight with him, for him. Luckily, I have such a great/ positive parents, so I feel like we can go for it!

Anyway, thank you again! Papa and Mama said thank you and hello to all of you as well!!
We love you!
